Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Hyundai Elantra comes in five trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, N Line, and N. The base level SE sports halogen headlights with automatic high beams. It's followed by the SEL, which offers a hands-free trunk lid release and 16-inch alloy wheels. An available Convenience package adds adaptive cruise control and 17-inch alloy wheels. The top-of-the-line Limited includes the features from the Convenience package plus a sunroof, the Hyundai Digital Key app, LED headlights, and rear parking sensors.
The sportier N Line boasts 18-inch alloy wheels with available performance tires, special exterior styling details, a sunroof, and the Hyundai Digital Key app. The Elantra N comes with 19-inch alloy wheels with high-performance summer tires, a variable sport exhaust, a rear wing, and LED headlights.
The Elantra's two hybrid trims include the Hybrid Blue and the Hybrid Limited. The Hybrid Blue includes keyless entry, a hands-free trunk lid, and alloy wheels. The Hybrid Limited has the Hyundai Digital Key, a sunroof, and rear parking sensors.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Elantra engine range gives plenty of choice between the standard, hybrid, and two higher-performance powertrains. The standard naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque and runs on the front-wheel-drive system. Hyundai Elantra's two performance models include the Elantra N line and the Elantra N. The N Line's 1.6-liter turbocharged I-4 engine produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Elantra N features a turbocharged 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that generates 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. It's available with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Performance
One of the highlights of the 2023 Elantra is its high fuel economy, especially with the Elantra Hybrid, which gets an EPA-estimated 54 mpg in combined driving. The vehicle handles corners well and absorbs bumps with ease. The N Line, with its sport-tuned suspension, provides a more aggressive drive.
Interior
The Elantra cabin provides plenty of space, with the back seat gaining two more inches of legroom for a total of 38 inches. It offers a practical 14.2 cubic feet of trunk space, which you can expand by folding down the back seats with remote release latches. The steering wheel has plenty of adjustments for the ideal driving position, and the cabin includes storage cubbies and front cup holders. The 2023 Elantra offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the standard 8-inch infotainment screen. The Limited trim has twin display screens, one for the gauges and one for the infotainment, as well as a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Safety Features
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded the 2023 Elantra an overall safety rating of five out of five stars. All Elantras include standard safety features such as automatic high-beams, lane keep assist, and front automatic emergency braking. A wealth of driving aids are available and include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking.
