Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are five trim levels for the 2023 Hyundai Palisade: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy. Exterior features for the SE include LED daytime running lights and headlights, heated side mirrors with turn signals, and 18-inch wheels, while the SEL adds roof rails and access to several packages, like the Premium package with 20-inch wheels. The XRT trim is all new and also adds 20-inch wheels, dark exterior trim pieces, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a power sunroof to the SEL model's standard equipment.
The Limited thoroughly upgrades the interior with luxury features, though it also adds a dual-pane version of the sunroof. The top-level Calligraphy has its own style of 20-inch wheels, puddle lights, and other cool premium touches inside and out.
Engine (Power)
All versions of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade use a 2.8-liter V6 engine with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission includes steering-wheel paddle shifters. All-wheel drive is standard on the Calligraphy. On all other trims, it's a free upgrade offered in place of standard front-wheel drive.
Performance
The Palisade delivers one of the most empowering driving experiences in the full-size SUV class. It also lets you switch in and out of Normal, Sport, and Smart driving modes. Opting for all-wheel drive on the SE also adds a Snow mode and hill-descent control. The SEL with the Premium package or higher models add a self-leveling rear suspension. For fuel economy, the 2023 Palisade is rated for 19 city mpg and 27 highway mpg.
Interior
The Palisade SE fits eight passengers in standard configurations, while the SEL and higher offer seven-seater cabins with second-row captain's chairs. A 12-inch touchscreen system and six audio speakers are included, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a 12-volt power outlet, and seven USB ports. The SEL adds push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a HomeLink garage remote, wireless phone charging, and a hands-free smart liftgate, among other features.
SEL models with the Convenience package add third-row USB outlets, a 12.3-inch full-digital multi-information display, heated second-row seats, navigation, leather seating, and more. The Limited builds from the SEL and all its optional packages with ventilated front seats, Nappa leather, a driver head-up display, and 12 Harmon Kardon premium speakers. The Calligraphy adds perforated leather to the steering wheel and quilted leather door panels, an ergo-motion driver's seat, and much more.
Safety Features
The 2023 Hyundai Palisade gains rear-seat side-impact airbags, further protecting occupants against potential crashes. The steering wheel uses haptic feedback to subtly guide the driver, such as during lane-follow and lane-keep assist. Forward collision warning, rear park assist, automatic front and rear emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high-beam assist, blind-spot and rear-cross traffic warning, and safe exit assist all come standard on every trim.
The SEL with the Premium package adds highway drive assist, front parking sensors, and a blind-spot view monitor. The Limited and Calligraphy go further, adding a 360-degree surround-view camera and semi-autonomous highway driving assist.
